Government Information (Public Access) Act:
Introductory and Advanced training courses for 2009

The commencement of the new Government Information (Public Access) (GIPA) legislation will have significant impact on the resources required by state and local government agencies.

Having trained approximately 160 people in my Introductory Courses and Advanced Courses, all attendees expressed their concern about the potential impact on the resources required in agencies, especially local government bodies and state-owned corporations. Eight out of ten Survey respondents rated my Courses at 4 or 5 out of 5 for overall content and value.

FOI (soon to be GIPA) Officers from agencies need to start now by attending training if they hope to be ready for the new legislation in early 2010.

With that in mind please note the following Training dates:

Introductory Courses:

12 February 2010 - book now

Advanced Courses:

26 February 2010 - book now

23 April 2010 - book now

The dates provided apply to courses to be presented in the Sydney CBD; however, they are dependent on receiving sufficient bookings to allow Courses to be viable. Additional courses will be run if there is sufficient demand.

Phillip also conducts courses in Parramatta, Manly and regional areas and will consider doing others areas depending on attendance.

Depending on demand, separate Introductory and/or Advanced courses can also be conducted as In-house training to meet different requirements. Courses are also available for specific industries, e.g. Local Government agencies, management or general staff.
